Pilates

Pilates is a great form of exercise as well as a rehabilitation tool.

We use mat and equipment based exercises to strengthen and lengthen the muscles in your body to improve posture and coordination.

When your body is aligned well, you move most efficiently and can perform to your full potential. Pilates can be used clinically to help reduce pain and improve stability following an injury or having a baby, help you learn about your body, or improve control, flexibility and balance to enhance performance.

We have a fully equipped Pilates studio with mats and small props, reformer, trapeze table, ladder barrel, Pilates chair and tower.

New to Pilates at Fusion Physio Ahuriri?

We start with a 1:1 assessment for everyone.

From this assessment (screen) we do a minimum of 2 x1:1 sessions to guide you to the best pathway for your needs:

  • Rehabilitation: We use Clinical Pilates 1:1 sessions as a treatment option
  • Private: We have a ‘new to Pilates Package’ which is the assessment (screen) + 2×1:1 sessions to start your Pilates journey

We are currently at capacity for classes and unable to take new clients into classes.

  • We are still working 1:1 with clients for injury rehabilitation, managing a chronic condition, exercise, wellbeing, or as an introduction to Pilates to improve your technique so you feel confident going into classes in a more commercial exercise class out in the community.

Pilates 1:1

For those wanting to achieve high performance goals, recovering from injury, have a medical condition, pre/post-natal or simply wanting education and exercise advice. 1:1 sessions are all about you and your specific needs, with an experienced instructor and guidance to improve your movement strategies working towards improved mobility and specific functional or sports related goals. You can continue 1:1 if this is your preference or transfer to a suitable class.
